Matsyotsavam 2011- One of its Kind

On the eve of Matsyotsavam-2011, the first-of-its-kind Fish Festival hosted by the State Fisheries Department, Putharikandam Maidan, on Wednesday, was abuzz with stalls getting erected and aquariums being installed, to be filled with water and aerated to receive the aqua guests due to reach the venue by morning.Next-door marine neighbours from Lakshdweep and Tamil Nadu, fresh water friends from Kochi and from the outskirts of the city are all on their way, said Santhosh Kumar, Technical Assistant, ADAK, on behalf of the festival organisers.

In case any of them reach early, and the aquariums are not ready, the fish can have a whale of a time swimming in either of the two mammoth open air pools set up on the premises
